Getting pre-approved is the absolute first step in beginning your home search. A loan officer looks at your finances—your income, debt, assets, and credit history—and determines how much money you can borrow, how much you could pay per month, and what your interest rate will be. After, you'll be issued a pre-approval letter which states how much you can borrow and under what conditions. This letter shows your Realtor/Buyer Representative as well as the sellers Realtor/Seller Representative that you're "ready, willing and able" to buy a home. Note: These days, being pre-approved before you tour a home is a must. However you're never obligated or bound to the loan officer or company that first provided your pre-approval letter. Alltown Real Estate requires all buyer clients be pre-approved, however we will council and advise you to speak with more than one lender to make sure you're getting the best rates for your individual situation.
